WHAT IS NFC?

VerifiR uses a unique patented solution based on NFC (Near Field Communication), which is a convenient wireless technology built into small, thin, and uniquely coded modules that don't require power and that work with existing smartphones. Each VerifiR tag carries a random unique signature that can be read by the VerifiR servers when scanned to authenticate each specific product.

WHAT DEVICES CAN READ NFC?

VerifiR works with any smartphone handset that features NFC. For most people, this means either Android or Apple iOS.

Android has had native support since 2010 including but not limited to devices from Samsung, Huawei, LG, Motorola, Xiaomi, Oppo, Lenovo, Sony, Vivo, Asus, HTC, Alcatel, ZTE.

Apple has featured native support on all models since 2018 (11 Pro, 11, XS & XR).

VerifiR can also work on 2017 iPhone models (8 & X) after installing the free VerifiR app.

Where is the NFC touchpoint on my smartphone?

The location of a phone’s NFC touchpoint or “sweet spot” varies by manufacturer, although it is typically found on the back or top edge of the phone. To determine where the NFC touchpoint is positioned on your specific phone, please consult your owner’s manual.

What is a typical conversion rate?

As NFC is still a relatively new technology at retail we continue to see a strong uptick in awareness and engagement There are many variables, we have however seen some deployments reach over a 50% engagement rate with some products receiving multiple engagements from multiple users over long periods of time

How do people know a VerifiR NFC module is in the product?

Retail merchandising and consumer messaging is very important, generally a call to action is placed over the embedded chip, to inform people of the module’s location. We continue to see brands deploying with strong calls to action enjoy a significantly higher engagement rate.

Will VerifiR NFC work with my product?

We make it easy to integrate VerifiR modules into almost any product. We can customize the scanning distance for your specific need (i.e. scanning within packaging or under brand logo). All tags can be customized regarding size, color, label material, water proofing, metal applications, serial number inclusion. VerifiR also leverages new RFID/NFC technologies as they become available, working with you to find the ideal module for your product.
